About Me, as a Human and Therapist

About Me

I’m an English-speaking therapist originally from San Francisco, California. As an expat myself, I understand the unique challenges of living abroad and am here to offer support to the international and expat community in Berlin. I’m committed to fostering a welcoming and affirming space for individuals representing different racial, gender, and sexual identities. This commitment includes ongoing reflection, learning, and advocacy to ensure my practice remains inclusive and responsive.

I was drawn to the mental health field by a deep desire to uncover truth, to give voice and clarity to what is so often left unsaid or unseen. Many people think of formative experiences as the things that happen to us in excess, such as too much conflict or too much chaos, but just as often, it’s what doesn’t happen that shapes us most—the absences, the silences, the unmet needs. I’ve learned that the parts of ourselves we avoid or fear naming are often the ones most in need of recognition and hold the greatest potential for growth and healing. This understanding, shaped by both my own journey and the work I’ve done with others, guides the way I approach life and therapy: with presence, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s inner world. I believe that healing happens not in isolation, but through honest connection, and that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful container for transformation.

Alongside years of academic study and clinical training, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including: social work case management, crisis intervention, substance use recovery, and mental health counseling. Through these experiences I have had the honor of supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, which have not only strengthened my clinical foundation, but also deepened my belief in the power of personalized, relational care. I know firsthand how vital it is to feel truly seen and accepted in the therapy space; not treated as a problem to be fixed, but as a human and whole person with a story that matters.

Areas I Support You With

I offer therapy for adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety, a feeling of overwhelm, and stress
  • Depression, low mood, lack of motivation
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions and identity shifts
  • Relationship dynamics, roles, and attachment challenges
  • Self-doubt, self-esteem, or feeling “not enough”
  • A general sense of being stuck or disconnected from yourself

Many of the people I work with are also exploring deeper questions about personal values, personal or familial history, or how to live more fully in alignment with themselves. Some are new to therapy, others are returning after previous experiences, and all are welcome.
